This place has been here as long as I could remember and the food here is bomb! In terms of consistency, the price isn't but the food quality and taste are on point every time!

This place is not the cleanest but it's one of the best restaurants in the area for authentic Chinese food. My go to here is their Chow Jew thick egg noodles with added beef tendons . This time I got the dry noodles version and it's a little bit too salty without the broth.

Not sure how people can eat a bowl of noodles in the morning but they are open for breakfast as well with the same menu. This place gets crowded during lunch and dinner hour but the service is very fast so not a long wait. They only accept cash here FYI. It's inconvenient but totally worth the detour to the ATM!

Everybody that comes to this place to find a seat during peak lunch hours only come for the soup noodles. Eating here can be torture, seating-wise; it's like riding economy in a bargain plane ride. Their soup tastes good only certain days, quality seem to fluctuate. Such that the soup can taste like it's been watered-down dramatically. They use a variety of ingredients in their soup, however not a lot of it. Their specialty is made from ingredients that can be purchased in the area, but they charge more than double for it.

Against my friend's advice, I ordered a rice plate. I ordered a "slippery egg with beef and rice", something that every single chinese restaurant have; but the one from this place was just horrible. It was a tasteless gunk of eggs with like 10 cents worth of veggies, with like 3 slices of beef. Made from ingredients that are on the brink of going bad and they charged $13 something dollars for it. It was a terrible waste of money being spent on a place that seem to have so much customers.

Their spare rib soup was pretty good, but 3 pieces of spare ribs for what you pay is like spending $4 to buy something from the dollar menu. Their chicken noodle soup is what everybody seems to go there for, to me it's average compared to pho ga restaurants. Their rice plate is complete waste, it feels like they keep it in their menu just to get rid of ingredients going bad.

I get the spare rib ho fun (香茅肉骨河粉) every time I come here and it never disappoints! The broth is sweet and tangy with a lemon grass aroma and the spareribs are cooked very tender. This is my mom's favorite here and we both slurp all the noodles and drink all the soup. My mom is the #1 hater of foods and there are very few foods she really likes in this world.

This noodle shop isn't for everyone. The noodles are good and cheap but the service is kinda bad. There used to be an old lady (possibly the mother of the owner or the ex-owner) who would scold us and rush us to eat quickly so they could accommodate more customers. It's not a good place if you want to sit and chat. You dine, pay at the register, and go! There's no thrills. The place is also kinda old and dirty but I don't really care. The noodles are cheap and yummy!

This is my favorite spot for rice noodles in Oakland!

This is where I have my breakfast
/lunch at 7:30 in the morning. The chicken with rice noodle and ice coffee is pretty much what I have each day. this will get enough fuel for me to last the entire day until dinner. their chicken stock has no MSG and be sure you ask them for their roasted garlic to be added to the soup, this will bring the soup to the next level.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and I was really happy with my meal! I ordered the beef stew with the wide noodles (Number 23) and it was DELICIOUS. Tender pieces of beef and tendon that melted in my mouth, accompanied with a delicious broth that was not too overly salty. I've never had beef stew with such thick pieces of noodles before, but I loved the variation on it!

The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because parking was TERRIBLE here. Circled around a few times until I finally caved and parked in the structure, but it was not that expensive ($3 for maybe 1.5 hours). Also, it was soooo crowded that people kept standing in the doorway, not letting the door close, so it was very cold inside. WE sat right in front of the door at the large community table down the middle.

Overall, I'd really recommend this place, specifically the beef stew, but just be weary about the parking situation.
